AIR Handling UNITS
FAN SECION - V
The fan section is a very rigid construction, using a multi-panel oor on which a support frame
for the fan is installed. This section is equipped with a service door (often with a door and
a service cap) with built-in protective net and a system of door handles with tightening
locks and protective locks. Slanted oors with drains are installed optionally.
Fan-motor sets, located on the fan frame, are mounted on the supporting frame using vibration
absorbers (spring absorbers or rubber vibration isolators). All the assemblies are equipped with
service switches and safety earth conductors.
Fans with a PLUG-type direct drive
Axial-ow fans without a rotor housing, with a direct drive, are used for the following reasons:
- To achieve optimum technical parameters,
- To provide a low level of noise,
- For easy servicing,
- To enable energy saving because of the possibility of using the frequency converter for
controlling the motor,
- To enable simple determination of efciency, by measuring the pressure difference at
the measurement connector pipes.
Motors with power up to 2,2 kW are powered using 3 x 230V, motors above 3 kW are powered
using 3 x 400V. When using highly efcient fans, couplings are installed which enables
exchange of the motor without disassembling the whole fan. This minimizes servicing time.
